Job Description:

Engineering Team member involved in the research, designing, documentation, fabrication, and implementation of mechanical and electromechanical systems within a manufacturing environment. Identifies appropriate materials, components, and processes to ensure the quality, performance, and manufacturability of systems used within the company's manufacturing process.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Applies technical methods in solving mechanical engineering problems within a manufacturing environment
  • Completes engineering tasks and projects with appropriate guidance
  • Considers process and maintenance impacts of design choices
  • Works within the engineering team to specify and design electromechanical systems
  • Provides support to and documentation for the maintenance team to troubleshoot, maintain, and fabricate electromechanical systems
  • Provides support to and documentation for the operations team on the proper use of manufacturing equipment
  • Understands and follows engineering department processes
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Participate, or assist, in identifying how the work that you do that affects the quality, or impacts the environmental aspects of the products or services we provide to customer(s)

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Must be familiar with the use of hand tools such as drilling machine, hand grinder and regular tools (wrenches, screw drivers...etc).
  2. Must be familiar with the use of electrical measuring devices such as a volt / amp multi-meter, clamp meter...etc.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Candidate may coordinate work of maintenance technicians and machine operators.

DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering
  • One to five years related experience
  • Printing or web handling experience is a plus.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Working knowledge of 2D and 3D CAD tools (Inventor preferred)
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, drawings, schematics, technical journals and papers, and other related material.
  • Ability to communicate effectively interdepartmentally and externally with vendors.
  • Ability to develop technical reports and present technical material.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and sit.
  • The employee may be required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT :

  • Work is performed in a clean air-conditioned manufacturing environment around mechanical equipment.
  • The noise level in the work environment occasionally requires hearing protection.
  • The employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, the risk of electrical shock, and to toxic chemicals and vapors. The employee must be able to wear personal protective equipment and follow safety procedures.
