Role Overview
We’re looking for a driven and detail-focused Junior Website Designer/Developer to join our expanding team. In this role, you’ll play a key part in designing, developing, maintaining, and optimizing client websites. You’ll collaborate closely with SEO and marketing teams to ensure websites are fast, secure, user-friendly, and built to drive both online orders and in-store traffic.
Compensation Structure: Base Salary ($45,000–$55,000)
This role is fully remote across all U.S. states, excluding Massachusetts and California.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Development: Create visually engaging website designs and mockups using Figma. Build, update, and migrate websites primarily on WordPress using Elementor. Occasionally work across platforms like Wix, Webflow, Squarespace, and Duda.
Website Maintenance & Security: Handle ongoing updates, plugin management, and site security. Manage hosting environments and CDNs such as Kinsta and Cloudflare.
Performance & UX/UI Enhancements: Improve website speed, mobile responsiveness, and technical performance. Refine layouts and calls-to-action to boost conversions and enhance user experience.
Troubleshooting & Site Health: Identify and resolve issues like broken links, 404 errors, redirect chains, and indexing problems to maintain optimal website performance.
eCommerce & Menu Integration: Optimize navigation and menu structures for better eCommerce performance. Support implementation and optimization of online ordering systems, including Dutchie iframe integrations, and improve product listings.
SEO Implementation: Work alongside the SEO team to develop and optimize location, category, and brand pages. Apply on-page SEO best practices, including schema markup and metadata.
Analytics Configuration: Assist in setting up and integrating Google Analytics 4 (GA4), Google Tag Manager (GTM), and Google Search Console for accurate tracking and reporting.
Qualifications
Experience: 1–3 years in web design and development.
CMS Proficiency: Strong experience with WordPress and Elementor. Familiarity with Wix, Webflow, Squarespace, and Duda is a plus.
Design Tools: Skilled in Figma for creating mockups, wireframes, and UI designs.
Technical Skills: Solid understanding of hosting environments, DNS management, and CDNs such as Kinsta and Cloudflare.
SEO Knowledge: Basic knowledge of technical SEO, on-page optimization, schema markup, and metadata.
Analytics: Familiarity with GA4, Google Tag Manager, and Google Search Console.
Problem Solving: Strong ability to troubleshoot and resolve website performance and indexing issues.
Industry Interest: Interest in the cannabis industry and willingness to learn dispensary-focused platforms like Dutchie and Springbig.
