Job Description:

The Investment Analyst will support the mission of the Investments Office, ensuring that The Rockefeller Foundation’s approximately $6 billion endowment is invested in a manner that both provides steady funding for grantmaking, and preserves real value, all while maintaining alignment with the Foundation’s overall mission. Specifically, the Investment Analyst will be responsible for assisting with the identification, selection and monitoring of external investment managers, analyzing performance, and contributing to all other aspects of endowment management. Reporting to the Director of Investments, the Investment Analyst will have an opportunity to cover all the developed/emerging market equity, fixed income, hedge fund and private equity portfolios. This position will be based in The Rockefeller Foundation’s New York offices.

Pay Range $93,000- $132,100. This represents the present low and high end of the Foundation’s pay range for this position. Actual pay will vary based on various factors, including but not limited to experience.

Work Schedule This is a three year fixed term position with a hybrid work schedule, and required to be in the office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work closely with portfolio managers and the investment team to support all aspects of the investment due diligence process, including participating in and documenting meetings with current and prospective managers and assisting in the qualitative and quantitative evaluation of existing and prospective managers.
  • Conduct ongoing reviews of individual managers, asset classes and the overall portfolio using quantitative analyses and third-party resources (e.g., Bloomberg and FactSet).
  • Assist in the development of investment strategy papers/presentations and manager recommendations for the CIO and Investment Committee.
  • Perform macroeconomic research and complete other special projects as required.
  • Drive process and quality improvements for data analysis and management.
  • Represent The Rockefeller Foundation at fund manager meetings and industry conferences; and
  • In time, form independent views on investments, managers and asset allocation.

Experience, Education, and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree, degree in economics or finance preferred
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience
  • Strong understanding of finance and investing with proven analytical, modeling and MS Office skills
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills, an active listener and shares thoughts and actionable insights
  • Quick learner and eagerness to learn more
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, and can think critically to interpret results
  • Self-starter who is resourceful and can work independently when necessary
  • Thrives in a collaborative environment and a willingness to perform a wide range of tasks
