Job Description:


The Individual Giving Coordinator plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth operations of our fundraising efforts, including donor database administration, prospect research, and project management for fundraising campaigns and events. The Individual Giving Coordinator also prepares campaign materials and donor acknowledgments; and communicates effectively with lay leaders and donors. This position will report to the West Coast/Midwest Development Director, and work in collaboration with other members of the Development & Communications Team, to meet the short-term and long-term fundraising goals of the organization.


ORGANIZATIONAL SUMMARY

Moving Traditions has emboldened more than 40,000 Jewish youth and trained more than 2,650 adults to implement Moving Traditions B-Mitzvah Family Education Program and our Teen Groups: Rosh Hodesh for girls, Shevet for boys, and Tzelem for LGBTQ+ teens. Kulam is a series of plug-and-play curricular sessions designed for Jewish educators to use in Hebrew High Schools with students and TAs, and at camps with staff and CITs. Our Teen Trips and Fellowships include jGirls+ Magazine, the Meyer-Gottesman Kol Koleinu Teen Feminist Fellowship and Kumi: Foundation. CultureShift training is available for those working with Jewish youth at camp and elsewhere about navigating gender, healthy boundaries, and more.


This year, Moving Traditions is projected to support more than 10,000 Jewish youth, in partnership with 200+ synagogues, day schools, camps, and other Jewish institutions across North America.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Maintain the organization's donor database and fundraising records
  2. Coordinate and assist with the planning and implementation of fundraising campaigns/appeals and events
  3. Assist with the creation and implementation of fundraising campaigns/appeals and events in partnership with Development and Communications team members
  4. Draft, prepare and distribute fundraising materials, such as annual campaign letters and emails; and individual donor reports
  5. Provide support to the development team in the research and identification of potential donors
  6. Communicate effectively with donors, sponsors, and partners to build and maintain relationships
  7. Facilitate check-in meetings to track activities and progress toward project timelines
  8. Perform administrative functions, such as tracking tasks in CRM; scheduling meetings; and maintaining online files
  9. Help analyze fundraising data and prepare reports to inform decision-making processes


QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE SKILL REQUIRED

  2. 2-3 years of development operations experience at an associate level, or equivalent
  3. Experience using Development CRM databases, Salesforce preferred.
  4. Intermediate level experience with Microsoft Office/365
  5. Strong interpersonal skills
  6. Meticulous attention to detail
  7. Excellent spoken and written communication skills
  8. Effective workload management skills, including organization, time management, defining and setting priorities, and problem-solving.
  9. Ability to work independently and remotely with colleagues, at a fast pace and across different time zones.


COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Compensation at Moving Traditions is determined based on the salary band for the role. The salary range for this role is $58,000 - $64,000, yearly. Benefits package includes paid time off for vacation and Jewish and major national holidays, 100% paid medical benefits for employee including dental/vision, STD/Life insurance, and FSA. In addition, employees that have been with Moving Traditions for at least a year are eligible for paid parental leave and a 401K employer contribution.


APPLICATION PROCESS

The process for the hired applicant will include the following steps:

  1. Submission of a Cover Letter & Resume.
  2. Applicants moved forward will have a phone screening with a member of Moving Traditions HR Team.
  3. Applicants that move forward will have an interview with the VP of External Relations, the Director of Development and the Database Administrator.
  4. Finalists will have an interview with the Chief of Advancement and the CEO.
  5. Three professional references will be requested at the end of the interview process.
