Who we are:

Sonora offers a 12-week remote intensive program aimed at the needs of intermediate guitar players. We provide our students with a well-rounded music education using a combination of custom accelerated learning software, a clear technical curriculum, weekly live classes held over Zoom, and one-on-one mentorship with some of the best guitar players and educators in the world. Our mentor staff consists of guitarists who have toured internationally with major artists, played on Grammy-winning records, and taught at the most reputable of music schools all across the country. Our team is fully remote and oriented toward the principles of conscious business.

Who you are:

A fantastic guitarist and enthusiastic teacher. You possess the ability to teach in a variety of musical styles, have a professional demeanor, and have the communication skills required to make complex ideas simple for the budding guitar student to understand. You likely have some formal music education in addition to years of teaching experience, and you are in a place in your career where you want to commit to a stable, full-time teaching post with a great company filled with other equally passionate teachers.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver high quality private lessons every other week to each of your students
• Devise a logical flow of lessons that will optimize a student’s developmental journey
• Maintain a log of the topics, assignments, and goals discussed in each of your lessons
• Create and share materials, videos, and assignments for your students that will provide great value to them
• Promptly respond to all student-submitted videos and questions and ensure they feel supported week to week
• Attend and contribute to daily meetings with the other members of the mentor team
• Successfully close a reasonable number of your students into an ongoing lesson subscription with you and Sonora after your first 12 weeks together wraps up
• Deliver two weekly group Q&A sessions (”Office Hours”) for your students to attend
• Maintain a simple tracker spreadsheet on your students that logs their participation and progress
• Be a professional and pleasant mentor and actively lead each of your students in their developmental journey on the guitar

Qualifications:

• Professional level guitar proficiencies
• History of formal music education
• 2+ years of experience teaching guitar
• Ability to play and teach guitar in a variety of styles
• Comfortable using computers, Zoom, and other tech required to teach online
• Strong communication skills
• Able to teach full-time to students with USA timezones

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $90,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
