Diono, a leading juvenile products manufacturer based in Seattle, Washington is looking for a Graphic Design Specialist. Responsibilities include creating, designing, and editing of manuals, packaging, box art, labels, and other graphic components used to manufacture our global products. This role will report to the Senior Marketing Manager. This position will be in our Ballard office, with occasional travel to our corporate headquarters in Sumner, WA.
SALARY RANGE:
$65,000 - $75,000 (Hourly pay: $31.25 - $36.00), paid bi-monthly in arrears
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- The Graphic Design Specialist provides technical support mainly to the Compliance and Product Development departments for technical manuals, specification sheets, parts manuals, etc.
- Use of graphic design expertise to conceptualize, design, and execute creative solutions across a broad range of projects for multiple departments within Diono.
- Manage print and digital mediums' technical layout, pagination, and instruction/communication information organization.
- Works closely with engineering, compliance specialists, and product development on new and existing products from start to finish.
- Supports E-Commerce and Marketing with design assets and online presence.
- Create new product technical literature ensuring adherence to all applicable Standing Instructions, Regulatory requirements and Brand requirements.
- Ability to create and/or modify illustrations as needed from a variety of resources, including 3D CAD models, engineering drawings, digital photographs, sketches and actual parts to support all technical literature including use, installation, and repairs for the complete range of Diono products.
- Collaborate with technical development, technical writers, product developers, product engineers, and other internal resources to research and create illustrations and graphics.
- Ensure the accuracy of content and manage illustration files.
- Time management skills and ability to multi-task and thrive in a team environment under tight deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude
- Self-starter and excellent communicator who can effectively manage product priorities and resolve conflicts and issues in a constructive and productive manner.
- Create and/or modify carton art and carton graphics for the various product lines.
- Manage technical literature language translation needs with an external translation company.
- Manage and prioritize workload to ensure all technical literature is delivered on time.
- Other duties and projects as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor of Arts degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- One to Four years in a creative role within a product design, technical environment or graphic design industry.
- Exceptional knowledge and demonstrated ability in Adobe Creative Suite is required,
- Exceptional eye for detail as well as the ability to manage multiple sources of information concurrently.
- Ability to work under tight timeframes.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Capability to handle sensitive and complex issues with discretion and good judgment.
- Positive can-do attitude, with a passion for getting details accurate quickly.
- Demonstrated ability within print, print process, and print mediums is a plus.
- Familiarity with Consumer Products, Textiles and Juvenile Products a plus.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate phones, computers, and other office equipment. This person must communicate clearly using the English language to accurately convey information and be able to hear at normal speaking levels both in person and over the telephone. Vision correctable to 20/40 is required to review written materials.
Generally good working conditions with little or no exposure to extremes in noises, temperature. Little or no safety/health hazards. Ability to lift up to 40lbs as needed when handling product.; work performed in an office setting.
