About the Role

We are hiring a Staff Frontend Engineer! You will partner with our CEO, CTO and founding team to deliver on our mission. You will work in an agile, collaborative environment understanding both frontend and backend concerns, but specializing in the frontend. You will work closely with product and designers to take wireframes from conception to implementation, work closely with backend developers to aid in API design, and ensure implemented UI code is unit tested and production-code ready. The role is remote with the option to be hybrid in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Responsibilities

1. Collaborate closely with product, design, and backend engineers, not just to build new features but build entirely new products from scratch, with focus on the frontend code
2. Build user interfaces, including interactions, responsive layouts, and styling
3. Contribute to a high-quality code base through writing unit tests, automation, and code reviews
4. Ensure user interfaces are accessible and enhance the performance of the application
5. Contribute to the development of best practices and standards within the engineering team

Basic Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, or equivalent industry experience
2. 6-10+ years of professional frontend development experience
3. Deeply proficient with NextJS / React
4. Experience with responsive web design
5. Experience in developing rich applications with Typescript, HTML, CSS
6. Experience in working with and structuring backend APIs. We’ll need you to represent the frontend’s interests in these discussions
7. Experience with view layout and rendering technologies (e.g., responsiveness, progressive enhancement, browser/device support)
8. Experience in an agile software development environment

Preferred Qualifications

1. Proficient (and opinionated) in a broad range of software design approaches and common UX patterns
2. Excellent communication and presentation skills
3. Experience using Tailwind
