As a Frontend Engineer, you will join a collaborative team of engineers and partner with the product team to strategize, design, build and maintain software in support of Hagerty’s Marketplace products. Our Marketplace products are focused on two main aspects of vehicle sales, auctions and classifieds. Our auctions platform is focused on a trusted and curated process for buying and selling the most sought-after vehicles. Our classifieds product is an easy and intuitive way to purchase classic and collector cars exclusively from Hagerty Drivers Club members. You will be working with the latest frontend technologies like React, TypeScript and Node.js, all built on the AWS cloud stack.

What You’ll Do:

1. Craft code that applies industry best practices with internal standards to solve real user problems
2. Build in quality as part of your process through unit, contract, integration and end-to-end testing
3. Provide collaborative feedback to your fellow engineers through code reviews and pair programming sessions
4. Identify areas of improvement within the application, test frameworks and CI/CD pipelines to increase efficiency and scalability
5. Assist with triage, resolution and root cause analysis of production issues should they arise
6. Create and/or update documentation as you craft new features and functionality
7. Research upcoming engineering trends and apply sound judgement to make recommendations for the future direction of our applications

This might describe you:

1. Proven experience implementing web technologies including JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML5, React JS, and CSS
2. Understanding of the full HTTP request lifecycle and able to diagnose performance issues
3. Understanding of CI/CD best practices and how to apply them to your advantage
4. Experience implementing modern testing frameworks utilizing Cypress or
5. Playwright and React Testing Library + Jest (or similar)
6. Comfortable with development tooling, including the use of browser-based dev tools
7. Experience working with AWS cloud architecture and working knowledge of BFF patterns
8. Possess attention to detail, an eye for design and genuine care about the user experience
9. Understand and implement accessibility guidelines
10. Comfortable working in a remote environment, collaborating via Zoom, Slack,etc.
11. Thrives in a collaborative environment, ensuring the right solution is achieved even if it isn’t your own

Nice to have

1. Experience with experimentation platforms such as Adobe Target or Split.io
2. Experience working with content management systems such as Contentful

1. This role can be worked from any U.S. remote location.
2. Familiarity with public company requirements, including Sarbanes Oxley and key regulations, if applicable. For SOX compliant roles, responsible for designing, executing, and documenting internal controls where they have been identified as owners to prevent errors in financial reporting, processes, and business operations. Including attestation to the completeness, accuracy, and compliance of all financial reporting data, where applicable.
