Education & Experience: BS in Mechanical Engineering with 8+ years in the industrial automation industry or equivalent experience. MS in Engineering and/or equivalent experience desired but not required.
Qualifications
Mechanical design experience using SolidWorks or Catia V5
Technical mastery of automated/robotic manufacturing cells and/or processes
Demonstrates full understanding of machine build and commissioning process, operator ergonomics, and designing for manufacturing.
Understands production processes with the ability to problem-solve complex issues
Understanding of Pneumatic, Hydraulic, Electrical and Mechanical systems
Demonstrated experience in a leadership role managing engineers
Experience should include work in one or more of the following areas:
Automated systems such as machine tools or robotic cells
Aerostructures (i.e. fuselage, wing) manufacturing
Assembly fixtures, jigs, tools
Manufacturing applications with composite materials
Job Responsibilities
Manage all aspects of the engineering group for custom automation projects. The engineering team under the management of this position will:
Size mechanical equipment such as motors, gears, actuators, hydraulics, conveyors, and piping
Create mechanical designs using 3D modeling software (i.e. Catia V5 or Solidworks)
Create part drawings from 3D models required for parts manufacturing
Assist sales with application design for concepts to potential customers
