DevOps Engineer | MSP | Remote, East Coast US | $150k-$180k

We’re looking for an Infrastructure-Focused Data Engineer with a passion for building robust data platforms. This role will work at the intersection of data engineering and DevOps, leveraging skills in Starburst or Trino to create a highly performant, reliable, and scalable data ecosystem. This person will be deploying and managing the underlying infrastructure, while understanding the data architecture.

What You'll Do:

1. Design, build, and maintain scalable data infrastructure and pipelines that support analytics and data science teams.
2. Deploy, configure, and optimize Starburst or Trino environments for distributed querying and data federation.
3. Collaborate with DevOps and cloud infrastructure teams to implement CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code (IaC), and automated monitoring solutions for data systems.
4. Enhance the performance, reliability, and security of our data platforms through best practices and innovative approaches.
5. Partner with stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver solutions that enable seamless access to data across the organization.
6. Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues across data pipelines, query engines, and distributed systems.
7. Advocate for best practices in data engineering and DevOps to improve processes, tools, and workflows.

What We're Looking For:

1. Experience: 3+ years of experience in data engineering with a strong infrastructure/DevOps focus.
2. Skills:
3. Hands-on experience with Starburst or Trino (setup, optimization, and troubleshooting).
4. Proficiency in one or more cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
5. Strong understanding of containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and orchestration tools.
6. Expertise in CI/CD pipelines and version control systems (e.g., GitHub, GitLab).
7. Solid programming skills in Python, Java, or Scala for building data pipelines and automation.
8. Experience with distributed systems, big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark), and data storage solutions (e.g., S3, Snowflake, or Delta Lake).
