We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Staff,Software Engineer. In this role, you will be playing a pivotal role in designing, developing, and implementing solutions that solve mission critical business problems and support Walmart marketplace growth.


About Team:

Our team works closely with our US stores and eCommerce business to better serve customers by empowering team members, stores, and merchants with technological innovation. From groceries and entertainment to sporting goods and crafts, Walmart U.S. offers an extensive selection that our customers value, whether they shop online at Walmart.com, through one of our mobile apps, or in-store. Focus areas include customers, stores and employees, in-store service, merchant tools, merchant data science, and search and personalization.


What You'll Do

  1. Full Stack Development: Spend 60% of your time engaging in hands-on coding, performing thorough code reviews, debugging, and optimizing both frontend and backend code. Ensure high code quality and adherence to best practices across the stack.
  2. Frontend Expertise: Utilize your proficiency in JavaScript, HTML, CSS, ReactJS, and Webpack to build responsive and dynamic user interfaces. Ensure seamless user experiences and maintain design consistency.
  3. Backend Expertise: Leverage your skills in Java, Spring Boot, and Kubernetes to develop robust and scalable backend services. Implement an efficient microservices architecture and ensure seamless integration with frontend applications.
  4. Mentoring & Learning: Provide mentorship to team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth. Lead by example and encourage knowledge sharing within the team.
  5. Architecture & Design: Stay abreast of emerging technologies, make strategic architectural decisions, and maintain comprehensive documentation. Drive the architectural vision for both front-end and backend systems.
  6. Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to enhance user experiences and ensure seamless integration. Facilitate effective communication and collaboration across departments.
  7. App Health, Quality, and Performance: Prioritize application quality, respond swiftly to feedback, improve performance, and address critical issues proactively. Implement best practices for monitoring and maintaining application health.
  8. Tech Initiatives & Innovation: Lead and contribute to technological advancements and innovation within the team. Champion new ideas and drive the adoption of cutting-edge technologies.
  9. Time Management & Planning: Develop detailed project timelines, manage tasks efficiently, and practice effective time management. Ensure timely delivery of high-quality projects.
  10. Engineering Excellence: Focus on meticulous, detail-oriented work, conducting rigorous code reviews, and resolving complex technical challenges. Uphold the highest standards of engineering excellence.
  11. Leadership: Provide strategic technical guidance, lead and manage projects, and coordinate with other teams to achieve successful outcomes. Exhibit strong leadership qualities and mentor junior team members.

  4. At least 8 years of experience with full-stack development experience in complex software systems
  5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  7. Experience in e-commerce or marketplace platforms.
  8. Contributions to open-source projects or active involvement in internal platform evangelism.

The annual salary range for this position is $143,000.00-$286,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
