About the Role

Are you a seasoned Developer Engineer passionate about crafting high-performance applications and shaping cloud-native architectures? We’re seeking a proactive Developer Engineer with a minimum of 6 years of hands-on experience in Java-based development and modern AWS technologies. You’ll work on full-stack initiatives, mentor peers, and deliver end-to-end solutions that empower critical government services.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Full-Stack Development & Leadership:
  2. Architect and implement responsive, intuitive UIs using React and TypeScript.
  3. Lead backend development in Java (Spring Boot, Spring MVC) and Python, ensuring robust, extensible services.
  4. Participate in Agile Scrum Ceremonies
  5. Microservices & Cloud Architecture:
  6. Design and maintain microservices on AWS Lambda, Docker containers, and Spring Cloud components (Config, Eureka, Gateway).
  7. Drive service integration with Amazon DynamoDBS3Textract, and AWS Glue for secure, scalable data workflows.
  8. Data Engineering & Processing:
  9. Build and optimize ETL pipelines in Databricks and AWS Glue Jobs.
  10. Utilize Apache Commons libraries for performant data transformations.
  11. DevOps & Infrastructure as Code:
  12. Define and manage infrastructure via Terraform and containerization best practices with Docker.
  13. Implement CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and GitHub Actions (Runners) to accelerate delivery.
  14. Monitoring, Security & Compliance:
  15. Integrate application monitoring and log analytics with Splunk and New Relic.
  16. Enforce security standards across AWS resources, IAM policies, and code-level practices.

Required Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
  2. 6+ years of software development, with at least 4 years focused on Java (Spring Boot, Spring MVC) in microservices environments.
  3. Proven expertise in React and modern JavaScript/TypeScript for front-end development.
  4. Deep familiarity with AWS services: Lambda, DynamoDB, S3, Glue, Textract, IAM.
  5. Solid experience with Databricks or equivalent Spark-based platforms for big data processing.
  6. Hands-on with TerraformDockerJenkins, and GitHub Actions for automated deployments.
  7. Strong SQL skills and schema design experience in PostgreSQL.
  8. Proficiency in Python for scripting, data processing, and automation tasks.

Preferred Skills & Differentiators

  1. Mastery of Spring Cloud (Config Server, Netflix OSS, Gateway).
  2. Track record of optimizing AWS Glue job performance and orchestration.
  3. Experience in test-driven development (TDD), automated testing frameworks, and code reviews.
  4. Background in federal, regulated, or security-sensitive projects (e.g. DHS).
  5. Certifications such as AWS Certified Developer or Solutions Architect.
  6. Experience with Ruby on Rails for rapid web application development.
