PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Serves as a member of the Cullman Parks, Recreation, & Sports Tourism marketing team, attending all meetings.
• Creates all graphics for the department including posters, banners, brochures, newspaper ads, website graphics, social media graphics and others.
• Creates ad design for the magazine to customers’ specifications.
• Manages the parks and recreation logos and branding.
• Ensures all graphics are within CPRST standards and have been proofed.
• Sends out advertisements and designs to external media channels as assigned.
• Serves as a creative consultant for the marketing team including creative naming, communications and other content.
• Takes pictures at parks, programs and events as assigned.
• Assists digital marketing team with website and social media content.
• Attends all meetings as required by supervisors.
• Acts as a member of the Recreation Team for special events, programs and other activities.
• Acts as a team member with other Parks and Recreation Administrators, embracing and supporting the vision and mission of the CPRST Board of Directors and the City of Cullman.
• Exhibits a high level of professionalism and ethics working amicably with the Park Board, the Executive Director, Administrators, Personnel and Community.
• Exhibits proficiency in written and oral communication.
• Work hours may vary, which will likely include nights and weekends, with hours varying based on time of year, events and projects.
• Performs other duties as assigned by supervisors.

SKILLS:

• Proficiency in 3D design software such as Adobe Creative Suite or similar tools.
• Some knowledge of advertising principles and best practices preferred.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
• Attention to detail and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong problem-solving skills to overcome design challenges.
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

College degree or certificate in graphic design, technology video production, marketing, or related field preferred. Prior experience in extensive graphic design work required. Experience in photography and photo editing required. Experience in video editing and production preferred. Must possess a valid driver’s license. Must meet Park Board employment and physical standards, which may include a background check as well as drug and alcohol screening. Experience and training which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and aptitude to perform the defined duties.
