Job Description


The Assoc Data Technologies Engineer will work with the data management team to build a scalable data delivery platform to drive the companies use and adoption of a distributed data technology using a Cloud environment. The Assoc Data Technologies Engineer will help deploy distributed technologies, automate technologies, upgrade paths, and monitor production implementation.

Deploy Distributed Technologies

  • Identify optimal hardware configuration for Distributed Data technologies
  • Identify software settings for performant implementation
  • Maintain different versions for non-production/production deployment

Automate Technologies

  • Automate implementation Distributed Data technologies by conforming to Digital River Automation best practices
  • Develop and test Chef automation scripts
  • Deploy and maintain the automation scripts

Upgrade Path

  • Identify upgrade path for major version changes
  • Conduct feasibility of upgrade path to major version
  • Implement upgrades in non-development environments and identify any issues with upgrades
  • Implement upgrade in production with minimum downtime and following change management processes

Monitor Production Implementation

  • Use Digital River standard tools to monitor production environments
  • Implement fixes to production issues and identify root cause
  • Proactively identify performance issues and create and implement solutions

Evaluate Emerging Technologies

  • Evaluate new technologies in market place and see the fit for technology gaps in current practices
  • Conduct POC of new technologies to understand the capabilities and implications of deployment of technologies


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Data Technologies Engineering/Related field, 0 - 2 years of experience in Data Technologies Engineering
  • Solid understanding of cloud computing principles, with a focus on Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  • Understanding of security considerations and networking fundamentals
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Lambda for developing data processing scripts and automation
  • Problem solving and troubleshooting skills, and ability to multitask on competing priorities
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
