Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for an Accounts Payable Clerk located in South Houston, TX (near Pearland). The Accounts Payable Clerk will be responsible for day-to-day tasks associated with General Accounting and Accounts Payable, including (but not limited to):

 

  • Check, verify and process invoices
  • Prepare payments for signature
  • Ensure all transactions are posted prior to month end
  • Ability to research, reconcile and resolve discrepancies
  • Maintain accounting records by making copies, matching, filing documents.
  • Maintain accounting databases by sorting, coding and entering Accounts Payable data
  • Protect organization's value by keeping information confidential
  • Compile and sort documents (i.e. invoices and checks) substantiating business transactions
  • Sort, code and enter accounts payable data
  • Maintain A/P, vendors and other files.
  • communicating with vendors and internal departments
  • Perform bank, GL account and other reconciliations
  • Assist with employees' expense reports
  • Assist with month-end reporting and closing procedures

 

Qualifications

  • One (1) to three (3) years of Accounting experience preferred
  • Experience with Accounting Software and Quickbooks
  • Experienced with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, or related field. is a plus but not required
  • Experience with full-cycle accounts payable processes is a plus
