Personal Trainer

Personal training is an umbrella term that encompasses various niches, from general fitness to endurance training. You also need to provide ongoing support and guidance through regular check-ins and tracking. 

While every fitness center has its hiring criteria, excellent communication skills, proficiency in technology and video calls, and a positive attitude are a must-have for online personal trainer jobs

As with most fitness jobs, an online personal trainer needs to be certified by a recognized institution, such as the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM), the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), and the American Council on Exercise (ACE). 

Strength and Conditioning Coach

If you wish to work in sports, becoming an online strength and conditioning coach might be a good option. As a strength and conditioning (S&C) coach, you will help student-athletes, athletes, or professional sports teams improve their performance and reduce the risk of injury. The prominent roles of an S&C coach involve prescribing aerobics, conducting weight training sessions, and providing wellness guidance. 

S&C coaching revolves around helping athletes develop or improve a particular skill. Common goals include:

Nutrition Coach

The terms “nutrition coach” and “nutritionist” are often used interchangeably. However, there is a critical difference. Unlike nutritionists, nutritional coaches don’t diagnose underlying health conditions. Instead, they encourage clients to reach their nutrition goals by providing support in various areas. 

The responsibilities of a nutrition coach include:

  1. Analyzing a client’s health history, lifestyle, and dietary habits. 
  2. Educating clients on the fundamentals of nutrition, such as macronutrients, reading food labels, and the importance of different food groups. 
  3. Understanding and discussing the causes of a client’s eating habits, such as stress and anxiety. This is also known as behavior modification in nutritional coaching. 
  4. Creating a supporting environment to help clients openly share their challenges and setbacks. 
  5. Maintaining open communication through messages and video calls. 
  6. Using monitoring tools to keep track of a client’s nutritional journey.  

Online nutrition coaching has become a lucrative fitness career. You can go the extra mile with an additional certificate, such as the Certified Nutrition Coach Certification (NASM-CNC) and the Precision Nutrition Certification (PN1). 

Pre and Post Natal Specialist

Pre and post natal coaches help pregnant and postpartum women achieve their fitness goals safely and effectively. 

Here’s how a pre and post natal specialist can help:

  1. Increase endurance and stamina to assist during labor.
  2. Maintain a healthy weight before and after childbirth. 
  3. Engage in training exercises that are safe for both the expectant mother and fetus.
  4. Strengthen pelvic and core muscles.
  5. Teach proper breathing form and method during childbirth.
  6. Reduce the risk of postnatal health issues, such as backache, high blood pressure, and gestational diabetes
  7. Improve overall well-being, sleep, mood, and energy levels. 

As an online pre and post natal specialist, you will provide 1-to-1 training and educate clients on the do’s and don’t’s of physical activity. You will provide all-round support to expectant and postpartum mothers, assessing their particular health conditions, addressing nutritional needs, and providing emotional support during this critical phase of their lives.
