Essential Job Functions:
1. Understands all components of digital marketing and presents solutions that align with business and marketing objectives that produce measurable results.
2. Formulates, directs, or coordinates digital communications activities and promotional campaigns for a wide range of clients, collaborating with public relations and marketing communications staff to determine the best way to present information to promote the university's programs and advance the institutional brand.
3. Identifies, develops, and evaluates digital communication strategies based on knowledge of university objectives and market characteristics.
4. Identifies main client groups and audiences, determines the best way to communicate and engage audiences to elicit desired outcomes, and develops and implements a communication plan.
5. Consults with clients and marketing staff to obtain information in order to create effective and action-oriented storytelling campaigns for the digital landscape.
6. Collaborates with the client the product, themes and methods, and any changes that should be made.
7. Writes engaging, SEO and SEM copy for use by the web, digital, or media to promote programs and services.
8. Serves as an analyst of website traffic to articulate user behavior trends to project teams and clients.
9. Stays current on new technologies, best practices, and trends in digital storytelling.
10. Understands key target personas, what's drives their decision making and what their needs.
11. Supports and executes deliverables related to SEO, analytics, content, and other deliverables as needed.
12. Continues to provide quality control making sure the digital marketing solutions align to strategy.
13. Works with assigned project teams to review campaigns, monitor performance, and identify areas for adjustments and optimizations.
14. Learns and masters the web CMS, Site Improve, project management, and other digital software tools.
15. Writes digital creative campaigns to deliver action-oriented content to encourage return visits and increase engagement through owned and shared media.
16. Collaborates with other NSU offices on a regular basis to increase engagement and amplify content through compelling storytelling through owned and shared media.
17. Edits or rewrites existing copy as necessary to maintain fresh content on shared and owned channels.
18. Writes to audiences in their terms and on their level so that the message is more readily received.
19. Varies language and tone of messages based on product and medium.
20. Reviews trends, consumer surveys, and other data regarding marketing to determine the best way to promote programs and services.
21. Conducts research and interviews to determine which of a program's features should be promoted.
22. Performs other duties as assigned or required.
