Mid-Level Web Content Specialist/Designer with 6+ years of web content experience to support a major program office at a federal civilian agency. The ideal candidate is able to work within established design guidelines, use various coding languages including HTML and CSS, and create and maintain high-profile federal websites. A working knowledge of JavaScript is a plus, as is willingness to learn from an experienced team. The position is 100% remote; experience working in a 100% remote environment with a distributed team is highly desirable.
Duties:
- Provide comprehensive website content updates to a large, complex, and high-profile federal civilian website.
- Leverage your solid understanding of PDF, HTML, CSS, and related web technologies to accept functional requirements and translate them into updated web and electronic document products.
- Assess and transform websites and electronic documents into Section 508 compliant products. Understand and implement website design, statistical, and publication standards.
- Handle multiple projects and be a self-starter with excellent time management and organizational abilities.
- Have a basic understanding of search engine optimization (SEO); improve and create optimized search engine content while adhering to internal standards and checklists.
- Collaborate with other team members in applying best practices and aesthetic consistency throughout all client sites and subsites
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Six (6) years’ experience developing or managing websites.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- Able to work independently.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong hands-on knowledge of website support in each of the following technologies: PDF, HTML, and CSS.
- Expert knowledge of web standards and federal regulations including Section 508c accessibility and the ability to implement those standards in various file formats.
- Experience supporting small to mid-size projects involving content management systems and website development projects
- Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio, Microsoft Visual Code, SSMS, Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe CC: Acrobat, Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign.
- Expertise in federal standards and regulations (Section 508) in various file formats
- Familiarity with Classic ASP and .NET is preferred.
- Familiarity with client management strategies is preferred.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust
