Job Description:

GeoNova is an indie game studio looking to create immersive and innovative gaming projects. We are looking to fill an UNPAID video game composer position with anyone who’d like to join the future of video games. All positions are currently unpaid until we generate enough funds from our Big Game's fundraising and our marketing plan. The position requires completing at least one task per week and attending one weekly hour-long meeting. Our current game is a 3D, 3rd person, comedic action-adventure with a map-level progression objective, following a storyline filled with wacky characters, strange events, and diverse areas. We are using the following tools:

  • Unreal Engine 5
  • Discord
  • GitHub
  • Trello
  • Figma
  • Google Drive

Though we have a style chosen for almost every aspect of the game, we have not yet chosen one for the game's scoring, leaving that area open to creative freedom from whoever becomes an Official Composer. If interested, you'll be added to our Discord Info Server, used for any questions you might have, briefly meeting part of the Official GeoNova Team and some other applicants, providing applicants with necessary info, and gathering all interested parties until we're able to have our Big Music Meeting. At the Big Meeting, you'll get a chance to meet some GeoNova Leads, ask and be asked questions, show any relative experience and stand out, be told general info about our Big Game, and be given specifics about your respective vetting process.

All applicants must go through an initial vetting process of about 1-2 months (depending on the level of work and commitment by selected pre-composers from the Big Meeting). This vetting process will include weekly tasks used to demonstrate pre-composers' work ethic, teamwork, communication skills, ability to complete tasks and go to meetings, and other important skills needed in a production team.

Please keep in mind that we are only taking on people who’ll be able to stay with us for the duration of the first part of this project, as we've had too many experiences with people leaving work undone, drastically hindering the production process. Our current desired timeline is to finalize the first 3 levels of the Big Game by September 2024 (3 months per level), though, like the vetting process, this can possible be shortened depending on members' production speed.

If any of the above interests you, come join us as we venture forth into new worlds!
