2. About the Opportunity:

The Technical Lead supports high-impact civic technology initiatives within the federal government. This role is responsible for shaping the technical approach and implementation of the work stream, analyzing data needs and system structures, and ensuring system reliability and availability. The role plays a critical part in managing software development efforts and guiding team members to deliver effective software solutions that optimize operational efficiency.

3. Responsibilities:

• Lead the technical approach, implementation, and knowledge of the work stream

• Develop, create, and modify general and specialized software applications

• Analyze user needs and develop corresponding software solutions

• Design or customize software to improve operational efficiency

• Analyze and design databases individually or as part of a team

• Mentor and supervise software developers

4. Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree

• 11 or more years of experience

• Software development experience with Java, JavaScript, Python, ReactJS, Ruby on Rails, TypeScript, or related languages

• Knowledge of front-end languages and libraries (e.g., JavaScript)

• Knowledge of back-end languages (e.g., Java, Python) and JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React)

• Familiarity with databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL), web servers (e.g., nginx), and UI/UX design

• Ability to quickly learn new projects and technologies

• Strong communication and problem-solving skills

• Leadership and people management experience

• Ability to guide less senior team members

• Ability to discuss technical tasks and team processes with team members and external stakeholders

• Must be a US citizen and able to obtain Public Trust clearance

Nice to Have:

• Background in Python

• Interest in DevOps

• Experience with CI/CD, AWS, Docker, or Kubernetes

5. Pay Range and Compensation Package:

• Estimated salary range of $130,000 to $165,000 annually, subject to variation based on experience and skills
