Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer, this role involves a balance of hands-on development and technical leadership, with a focus on delivering a scalable, user-friendly application that supports data governance and research collaboration. Success in this position will require a strong background in full-stack development, AWS cloud technologies, and secure software design, plus experience in building production-grade web applications, plus effective managerial experience.
Key Responsibilities
Architect and develop web applications (~40%)
Lead the design, development, and deployment of scalable web applications, focusing on both frontend and backend components using modern web technologies and frameworks.
Design and implement user-centric features (~20%)
Collaborate with UX/UI designers and product managers to build intuitive, user-friendly interfaces that enhance the overall user experience of the ADRF platform.
Ensure scalability, performance, and security (~15%)
Apply best practices in software architecture, cloud deployment, and security to ensure the platform is reliable, scalable, and FedRamp-compliant.
Manage and collaborate with cross-functional teams (~15%)
Lead the software engineering team, working closely with data engineers, analysts, and stakeholders to define technical requirements, review design solutions, and ensure seamless integration with data services.
Maintain code quality and keep current with technologies (~10%)
Conduct code reviews, write automated tests, and stay updated on emerging technologies, continuously improving the platform and the development process.
