About the role

Forterra is seeking a Simulation DevOps Engineer responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining simulation CICD, automation, utilities, and reporting tools. This role demands expertise in software engineering, with a particular emphasis in DevOps and automation. Expertise with GIT, CICD, Linux, Docker, and Python is a must. Ideal candidate also has expertise in C++ and web development and is interested in software development of our simulation platforms.


We're looking for a team player who is passionate about simulation that is willing to engage meaningfully across the

simulation team and other teams to ensure simulation will successfully contribute to the success of our

product deliveries.


What you'll do

  1. Design, development, and maintenance of simulation automated tests (nightly, weekly, merge) and reporting tools (including web-based tools).
  2. Provide domain expertise to interface with software integration teams and test teams.
  3. Software development activities such as agile ceremonies, task updates, and team meetings.
  4. Collaborate with engineers from other cross-functional groups such as systems, safety and test to ensure automation and reporting needs are met.
  5. Develop software throughout the development cycle, from collecting feature requests to their final delivery via thorough testing and verification activities.
  6. Support troubleshooting, integration, development, and fix of automated tests.
  7. Work in a distributed team to accomplish sprint goals.
  8. Participate in cross-functional meetings to identify features, improvements, and scenarios needed to achieve software releases.

Qualifications

  1. Expertise with CI/CD Platforms, preferably GITLab.
  2. Expertise in Python, Linux, and Docker/Containerization.
  3. Expertise with Test Automation using scripting languages, preferably Lua.
  4. Expertise in development of developer and test utilities.
  5. Experience with web development and databases.
  6. Strong debugging experience.
  7. Strong problem solving and analytical skills, with an ability to troubleshoot and resolve software issues.
  8. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing multiple tasks and priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Experience with automation and CI/CD for simulation platforms.
  2. Experience with hardware and network configuration and troubleshooting.
  3. Experience with traditional software development, preferably in a related domain.
  4. Experience with autonomous vehicles.


US Salary Range

$105,000—$145,000/year


The salary range for this role is an estimate and is based on a wide variety of compensation factors. The salary offered to candidates will vary based on a variety of factors including (but not limited to) relevant work experience, education, specialized training, critical expertise, training, and more. Equity in Forterra is included in most of our full-time, high-demand roles and is therefore considered part of Forterra’s overall compensation package.
