This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Software Engineer based in United States.

You will join a fast-scaling SaaS environment building workflow automation, document management, and e-signature products used by millions of users worldwide. The role sits within a product-focused engineering team responsible for maintaining and evolving a large-scale legal forms platform. You will design and build backend systems that power APIs, document workflows, and data-driven product features. The work is highly autonomous, with strong ownership from design through production and iteration. You will also contribute to improving development velocity by leveraging modern AI tools in everyday engineering workflows. This is a hands-on role where your contributions directly influence product performance, user experience, and business outcomes.

Accountabilities

1. Design, build, and maintain scalable backend features and APIs using PHP and modern frameworks, ensuring reliability, performance, and maintainability across core product services.
2. Contribute to cross-functional product development, including occasional frontend work in React to support end-to-end feature delivery.
3. Leverage AI tools to accelerate development, improve engineering efficiency, and introduce smarter workflows across the team.
4. Analyze A/B test results and product data to evaluate feature performance and drive continuous improvement.
5. Participate in technical decision-making, helping the team operate with high autonomy and minimal dependency on external product management.
6. Write clean, tested, and maintainable code while actively improving engineering standards and team practices.

Requirements

1. 3+ years of backend development experience with strong proficiency in PHP and Laravel or similar frameworks.
2. Hands-on experience using AI tools to improve software development workflows and delivery speed.
3. Strong knowledge of REST APIs, SQL/MySQL, message queues such as SQS, and cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred).
4. Solid testing practices and commitment to high code quality, reliability, and maintainability.
5. Basic knowledge of Python for supporting tasks and scripting needs.
6. Familiarity with React for occasional frontend collaboration.
7. Strong ownership mindset, proactive attitude, and ability to work independently in a low-bureaucracy, fast-moving environment.
