Senior Finance Associate

A world-class, multi-asset investment firm that has successfully managed over $100 billion in assets is seeking a Senior Finance Associate to join the Real Estate team at its downtown Boston office. The Senior Finance Associate will play an integral role within our client's Finance division, overseeing accounting and reporting for a diverse set of direct real estate assets.

Applicants must be able to work onsite in Boston 3 days per week to be eligible for this position.

Responsibilities:

  • Guarantee accurate monthly and quarterly accounting and reporting for diverse real estate assets, including evaluation of periodic management fee calculations
  • Engage with property managers and collaborative venture partners to converse about operational and accounting findings
  • Spearhead the quarterly valuation procedure for every real estate asset, managing internal evaluation checks and external appraisals
  • Team up with the fund's administrative team on varied duties such as future real estate investment preparations and periodic financial statement examinations
  • Offer support to our client's team on investment and finance-related queries
  • Supervise our client's Finance Associate, focusing on weekly liquidity analysis and review of loan transactions
  • Implement and verify capital actions, ensuring thoroughness and precision
  • Scrutinize investment budgets, looking into any discrepancies
  • Collaborate on yearly audits, tax procedures, and quarterly REIT validations, supplying necessary information and upkeeping audit documentation
  • Procure and evaluate financial reports from minority investments
  • Uphold the integrity of portfolio accounting systems and ledgers
  • Contribute to additional tasks as needed, including supporting operational due diligence and regulatory reporting


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; Holding a CPA title is a significant advantage
  • 2-4 years of pertinent accounting background in the real estate domain
  • Previous Big 4 audit experience or a role in a real estate investment firm is a plus
  • Adeptness in real estate finance issues, a robust grasp of property valuations, operations, and reporting
  • A foundational knowledge of tax nuances related to private real estate assets
  • Familiarity with financial markets and instruments
  • Competency in Yardi is an advantage but not mandatory
  • Stellar communication abilities, both written and verbal, coupled with the confidence to interact with management at all hierarchies
  • Capacity to handle multiple tasks, thrive under stress, and adhere to deadlines
  • An acute attention to detail coupled with high professional standards and self-drive
