Job Description:

The Sales Account Manager is responsible for sales of all digital products to the academic, government, and corporate library market in US and Canada. This individual will be focused on securing new subscriptions/purchases along with upselling to existing customers.

KEY TASKS

· Meet and exceed sales quotas and goals for digital products within the assigned territory as defined by sales management and subject to periodic review and realignment.

· Develop superior knowledge of SIAM digital products and the markets we serve.

· Contact potential new customers via phone and email to introduce SIAM products, and cross sell/upsell to existing customers.

· Follow up on all trials along with any expired subscriptions within territory as required.

· Respond to RFPs from prospective customers.

· Generate customized quotes, negotiate and execute sales agreements.

· Position requires approximate 30% travel:

o Visit top customers at least once a year, focus on up-selling.

o Visit prospective customers to present/demo products.

o Represent SIAM at exhibits and conventions as needed.

· Assist with the resolution of customer issues where appropriate.

· Provide weekly and/or monthly reports detailing sales and trial activities within territory.

· Assist with market research for e.g. new products, open access business models, competitor pricing as needed

· Other duties as assigned

KEY SKILLS

· Strong organizational and project management skills

· Excellent written and verbal skills a must

· Strong presentation skills required

· Self-starter with the ability to work independently

KEY EXPERIENCE:

· Sales/Marketing experience

· Understanding of the academic and corporate library market preferred

· Proficiency with Word, PowerPoint and Excel required

· Experience with CRM software

· Bachelor’s degree plus 3-5 years of work experience

Performance expectation
In the performance of their respective tasks and duties all employees are expected to fulfill the following:

· Have a general understanding and appreciation of applied math. computational science and data science; be an advocate for SIAM and its mission.

· Perform quality work within deadlines with or without direct supervision.

· Interact professionally with other employees, constituents, and vendors.

· Work effectively as a team contributor on all assignments.

· Work independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other employees and organizations.

PAY:

The posting is for 70 - 80 K with additional opportunities for incentive pay.
