Job Description:

The Media Production & Live Event Coordinator will oversee all video production and events requests from both institutional partners and external clients. This position will serve as a key point of contact for faculty, staff, and event organizers. The Media Production and Live Event Coordinator will be responsible for managing the coordination of video production projects and live events, ensuring that all projects run smoothly and efficiently. They will work closely with internal departments, external clients, and the Emerson Productions team to deliver high-quality video content and live event experiences.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

  • Manage the scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation for all video production projects and live events.
  • Intake requests, contact clients / event planners, conduct needs assessment for productions / events and help coordinate procurement of appropriate technology resources and scheduling of production crews as needed.
  • Collaborate with the Creative Producer and Event Technology & Livestream Specialist to ensure that project goals, timelines, and deliverables are met.
  • Maintain an organized and up-to-date project management system, tracking project progress and milestones.
  • Create and maintain production schedules, ensuring that deadlines are met and projects are completed on time.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and contractors, obtaining quotes and negotiating contracts as needed.
  • Coordinate with the Tech Division Budget staff for timely invoicing for work provided by Emerson Productions.
  • Oversee the planning and execution of live events, including venue selection, equipment setup, and technical support.
  • Coordinate with the Event Technology and Live Streaming Specialist to ensure seamless live streaming experiences for viewers.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any logistical issues that arise during live events, ensuring minimal disruption to the production crew.
  • Review project deliverables to ensure they meet the highest quality standards and align with client expectations.
  • Implement and maintain best practices for project management and live event coordination, continuously improving our processes and services.
  • Maintain events calendar for tech support to Emerson events.


QUALIFICATIONS - Qualifications are deemed required or preferred and represent what is needed to effectively perform job.

  • Bachelor's degree in media production, communications, journalism, or a related field required
  • 10+ years of experience in media production and live event coordination required
  • Experience in working in an academic or higher education setting preferred

COMPENSATION

Compensation for this position will be between $ 61,058 - $ 74,796 annually, commensurate with experience.

Grade of Position: S-23-08E

Scheduled Weekly Hours: 36.25

This position will be exclusively represented by the Service Employees International Union (SEIU), Local 888 for purposes of wages, hours and other terms and conditions of employment.
