The Marketing Web Developer will be an integral collaborator withing the marketing department, responsible for developing clean and effective front end code that adheres to industry standards and best practices, in support of Mercury’s customer acquisition strategy.
Essential Job Functions:
Corporate Website: Manage corporate website development work and site maintenance, and support year-over-year organic traffic and growth.
- Utilize the content management system (CMS) to manage corporate website templates, content, and site architecture.
- Code, test, and deploy corporate web pages or campaign landing pages with HTML, CSS, JS, ensuring pages are optimized and responsive across multiple devices.
- Collaborate with the Sr. Manager of Brand Experience to convert Figma designs into coded deliverables. Adhere to branding style guides outlined in the company Design System. Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs from the inception of the project.
- Work with our SEO agency to implement code recommendations in support of boosting organic traffic and optimizing page load speeds.
- Develop code that aheres to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.1). Perform tests as a keyboard & screen reader user to identify roadblocks for disabled users.
- Write custom JavaScript code for interactive elements, dynamic content loading, form processing, keyboard users (accessibility), and URL parameter campaign tracking.
- Exhibit strong attention to detail with an ability to take direction, work independently, and analyze & solve technical problems. Comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously within defined timelines.
- Utilize tag management solutions, such as Adobe Launch, Google Tag Manager, and Tealium.
- Collaborate with cross-department teams of developers, designers, marketers, and project managers, as necessary.
- Contribute to internal projects, such as developing our CMS, supporting our marketing automation efforts, or expanding our tech stack, as appropriate.
Regular attendance at work on a full-time schedule of at least 8 hours and 40 hours per week

Education:
- Bachelor’s degree or certification in software or web development.
Experience:
- 2-5 years of Responsive Web Development.
- 2-5 years of Content Management System experience (Crownpeak a plus).
- Proficient with HTML, CSS, JavaScript/jQuery, GitHub (Angular, React, or ASP a plus).
- Proficient in coding and troubleshooting for web accessibility (screen reader and keyboard users).
- Knowledge of web standards relating to APIs and webservices (REST, SOAP, XML, WSDL, HTTP, JSON, etc).
- Experience researching, designing, implementing, and testing highly scalable, reusable UI components/libraries, web applications and web services.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Understanding of semantic and ADA compliant HTML.
- Search engine optimization best-practices.
- Utilizing project management software tools (such as Jira, Confluence, Monday.com).
- Adobe Creative Cloud, Figma, image optimization, or web design experience a plus.
