ICF-BASED CLINICAL PRACTICE GUIDELINES MANAGING EDITOR
We are seeking a managing editor for a national non-profit physical therapy membership association. The Clinical Practice Guidelines (CPG) Managing Editor serves as a critical member of the Academy of Orthopaedic Physical Therapy (AOPT) CPG leadership team whose aim is to continually advance the quality, uptake, and implementation of evidence-based practice within and outside the field. The CPG Managing Editor will work directly with the CPG Editors, CPG Board Liaison, Work Group Leaders, and the Executive Director of AOPT.
Key Activities:
- CPG development, dissemination, and implementation
- Volunteer management and recruitment
- Clinical Guidelines Platform training Advancing methodology and processes
Leads efforts with support from CPG leadership team:
- Recruit and develop volunteer workforce for CPG development
- Identify, screen, and implement new tools to support CPG development (e.g. Endnote - reference management, Covidence - systematic review tools, BRIDGEWiz - CPG recommendation development tools, Indico – screening, extraction and document reviews)
- Develop marketing and educational content from CPGs to increase interest, uptake, and implementation by members
- Coordinate all volunteer CPG development activities
- Provide training on CPG development applications to end users
Desired Skills and Training:
- Strong writing and oral communication skills
- Highly organized
- Pays exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to plan and organize work independently
- Self-directed and able to independently problem solve
- Proficiency in research tools and software (e.g., reference management, Excel, Endnote, document sharing, and database systems)
- Possess high level project organization and execution skills across multiple teams simultaneously
- Highly skilled in relationship and team building
- Copyediting experience
- Knowledge translation experience
- Visionary thinker
- Minimum 5 years professional experience using above skills.
Preferred:
- Project management skills
- Experience with orthopaedic physical therapy or related healthcare field
The ideal candidate will have literature search, systematic review, and guideline development experience, including skills in the use of guideline development tools. Examples include Endnote, RefWorks, Mendeley, DistillerSR, RevMan, and GRADEproGDT.
This is a full-time, salaried position. Some travel required. If you live within a 50 mile radius of the office location this position will require commute to the office.
