Experience Camps is a growing national nonprofit that provides no-cost programs for kids who had a parent, sibling or primary caregiver that died. We give grieving children experiences that will change their lives forever. Overview

Under the direction of the Director of Development, the Major Gifts Officer will manage major donor relationships (capacity of $5000+) for an organization that is poised to double revenue within the next 3 years. With the organization’s recent focus on individual giving, and major donors being among the highest contributors to annual revenue ($2M), this individual will work with organizational leadership, the board and staff to leverage the strategic plan to maximize fundraising among the major donor segment.

Major Gifts Strategy

  • Work with the Director of Development (DOD) to set goals and define an ambitious donor engagement plan focused on high net worth individuals in the US.

  • Oversee analyses of income from high net worth individual donors, evaluate donor pipeline, improve revenue performance, and inform strategies.

  • Develop the annual major gifts fundraising, stewardship and engagement plan in alignment with the programming and events calendar, identifying quarterly touch points and reasons to engage with donors.

  • Work with the program team to articulate program areas of support and develop major donor solicitation plans and strategies

 


Outreach

  • Conduct regular donor meetings (virtual or in-person) and maintain a portfolio of 100 - 130 major gift prospects.

  • Work with DOD to develop strategies to engage Board members in development activities and unlock Board members' networks for fundraising purposes.

  • Develop and design highly customized donor engagement and stewardship plans, content and other materials for assigned donors.

  • Actively maintain donor data and moves management processes within Raiser’s Edge.

 

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree and 3-5 years of nonprofit development experience with direct fundraising.

  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills; strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Demonstrated track record of major gift solicitation.

  • Experience working with a non-profit Board of Directors.

  • Self-motivated, strong organizational skills and demonstrated ability to balance multiple project
