Buddy Punch is an online employee management platform and time card replacement system
that takes the hassle out of employee time tracking, scheduling, and payroll. We provide
accountability through the use of webcams that capture an image of each employee when
punching in or out. The platform uses GPS and an IP address lock to track where employees
punch in and out whether it be remote, hybrid, or in the office. This allows companies to save
time and avoid costly mistakes with time card approvals, automatic overtime calculations, and
payroll exports.
Who We’re Looking For
We’re a bootstrapped company that started in 2013, and the founders are very involved in the business and have grown it to where it is today. We have big aspirations but are not looking to raise funding; not because we don’t believe in it but because the founders believe in sustainable growth, not growth at all costs.
Buddy Punch is in an extremely competitive market and growth is highly dependent on our ability to make big strategic bets to continue winning our market. We’re primarily product-led growth (PLG) with some sales-assisted PLG. The founders have many years of testing various marketing channels under their belts and are keen to find acquisition opportunities that go beyond basic SEO and paid acquisition programs. Buddy Punch is seeking their first full-time marketing hire to take the reins, be strategic, make a case for various marketing initiatives, then execute and report on the successes and failures to help them reach their ARR goals.
We’re looking for a marketing generalist with immense amounts of curiosity, innovative thinking, an owner’s mindset, and technical/analytical aptitude. The ideal candidate will have B2B SaaS marketing experience (either startup or bootstrapped), be scrappy, and passionate about everything they do. If this sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you.
Primary Responsibilities
- Own the marketing budget and drive the quarterly and annual marketing strategy for Buddy Punch
- Report on marketing performance as activities lead to trial signups and paid plan conversions
- Provide analysis and recommendations based on findings and insights gathered from quantitative and qualitative sources
- Identify ways to optimize the website to drive higher engagement and increase free trial signups
- Identify ways to help new customers get value from their free trial to increase conversion to paid plans using email, paid advertising and other channels
- Define and execute acquisition programs that generate and capture demand within the market
- Find, hire and manage marketing contractors and agencies to help fill in any execution gaps
- Develop and implement outbound email campaigns; Identify potential buyers using ICP and intent data
- Develop innovative automated outbound email strategies using new tools like Clay, RB2B, La Growth Machine, Smartlead and others
- Develop advertising strategies and implement/optimize them across Google Paid Search, YouTube, Meta and LinkedIn
- Develop and execute influencer marketing strategies across social platforms like Instagram, TikTok, Reddit and others
- Develop a content strategy for blogs, case studies and reports; Develop the content along with content and SEO consultants and track performance
- Develop a way to plan, prioritize, execute and track experiments to find new sources of demand and improve conversion rates
- Stay on top of the latest trends in marketing technology and recommend new tech to try; Optimize current tech stack to get the most out of investments
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
- Proven experience in growth marketing (3 years), digital marketing, or a related field, with a track record of driving customer acquisition and revenue growth
- Experience with a product-led growth (PLG) model is required
- Demonstrated success in managing end-to-end marketing campaigns from conception to execution to measurement
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, draw actionable insights, and make data-driven decisions
- Excellent project management skills with a focus on meeting deadlines and delivering results in a fast-paced environment
- Experience working with marketing technology platforms (e.g., HubSpot, Google Analytics, Looker, Clay, RB2B, Smartlead) is desirable
- Proficiency in digital marketing channels, including SEO, PPC, social media advertising, and email marketing
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and persuasively
- Creative thinker with a growth mindset and a passion for driving business growth through innovative marketing strategies
