Scope

The Global Compensation Payroll Partner collaborates with business leaders, HR Business Partners, recruiting, legal, global mobility, tax, corporate development, payroll, and accounting to perform compensation analysis and support global compensation salary and bonus program management.

Job Duties
 

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of the company's incentive plans.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to manage global compensation challenges, including payroll considerations for international transfers, assignments, unique country specific hiring needs, off cycle payments/ stock arrangements within and outside the company’s annual bonus pool.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Corporate Development, Accounting, Human Resources Operations, Legal, Chief Administrative Officers, Global Mobility and Global Tax to establish and maintain the payroll aspects of effective incentive compensation processes and policies.
  • Support recruiters with complex offer creation to ensure the firm can execute on the desired result.
  • Coach In partnership with HR Business Partners, continually educate managers on the payroll best practices of compensation decisions. communication
  • Participate in annual compensation planning activities, including preparation of fiscal year base earnings, overtime, allowances, and bonus pool expenses.
  • Perform reconciliations of accrued versus paid bonuses, dividends, stock and withhold to cover transactions.
  • Work closely with the IT department to optimize the payroll aspects of compensation system/processes to ensure accuracy and data integrations to payroll systems for annual global payroll processing.
  • Work closely with Morgan Stanley to process annual stock transactions related to Withhold-to-Cover (use of restricted stock shares at vesting to pay the withholding tax).
  • Utilize business knowledge and compensation expertise to perform root cause analysis and develop creative solutions to meet both processing efficiency and business operational success from a payroll perspective.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of training to the Human Resources and Payroll Teams for accurate data collection and tracking to meet statutory compensation, tax requirements, and payroll processing deadlines.
  • Review legal contracts for compliance with global statutory salary, pay, pension and taxation requirements.
  • Convert legal contract terms to available bonus and salary plans, and, whenever necessary, establish new plans to incorporate pension eligibility and taxation strategies.
  • Maintain requirements for earned bonus and stock allocations across fiscal years for appropriate wage/tax reporting splits across multiple legal entities.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of incentive compensation plans, payments, and related documentation from a payroll perspective.
     

Minimum Requirements
 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, or accounting plus 7-10 years of experience in Compensation or Finance
  • Strong understanding of compensation and payroll laws, regulations, and industry standards in several regions: Americas, Europe and Middle East, United Kingdom, Asia-Pacific.
  • Strong team player with advanced communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with collective bargaining agreements, most notably in Italy
  • Possess in-depth knowledge of global payroll and compensation terminology within a fast-growing company (acquisition experience desirable)
  • Project management experience desirable
  • Up to date with industry best practices and trends related to payroll, incentive compensation administration, recommending improvements to current processes and systems.
  • Experience with general ledger systems and accruals of bonuses

  • Ability to interpret complex or unique hiring or acquisition compensation arrangements and the implications for payroll.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in using compensation management software or systems including the Oracle compensation model, Workday and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with stakeholders across all levels of the organization.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage competing priorities effectively.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information with utmost professionalism and discretion.
     

Salary Range

Houlihan Lokey is committed to providing its employees with an exciting career opportunity and competitive total compensation package, which may include other components such as discretionary incentive compensation. The firm’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the possible salary range for this role at the time of posting is:

$180,000.00-$200,000.00

Actual salary at the time of hire may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors, including, but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant qualifications, skills, and experience and the location where this position may be filled.
