Job Description:

Reporting Hospital CEO, the Financial Analyst serves as a key business analyst and liaison between business operations and finance by applying financial insight in performing projections and analysis of results to support the overall goals of First Surgical Hospital. This position fosters communication and knowledge between administration, the business office, and finance to enhance revenue cycle management and reporting for the organization. In addition, the Financial Analyst enhances the organizations' awareness and understanding of operating performance information and financial planning as well as the impact of management's decisions on these financial results.

Essential Duties:

  • Acts as the main point of contact for financial and accounting issues for the hospital and related entities.
  • Performs daily cash collections, check reconciliations, and monthly bank reconciliations for hospital.
  • Participates in revenue forecasting, monthly/quarterly business reporting, variance analysis, activities for the organization.
  • Work through cross-functional relationships with the business office and other departments in the organization.
  • Facilitates communication between the functions within administration, finance, and business operations to ensure accurate and predictive financial information is communicated throughout the organization.
  • Understand key business unit operating metrics/drivers and measure performance to established metrics.
  • Forecast accuracy and monitoring countermeasures.
  • Responsible for monthly detailed reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts including cash, inter-company balances, prepaid accounts, fixed assets, general and accrued liabilities, etc.
  • Provides monthly and quarterly detailed variance analyses and explanations including detailed transactional financial reporting as required by management.
  • Assist in developing annual operating plans and long-range plans and capital planning processes.
  • Perform special projects and financial reporting as required.
  • Works closely with the clinical departments, business office and billing functions on revenue cycle management.
  • Performs other duties as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
  • Proven experience in financial planning, analysis, or related roles
  • Strong knowledge of governmental accounting principles and practice
  • Proficiency in quantitative analysis techniques and tools
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial software applications
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
