Minimum Qualifications

  • A bachelors degree in a closely related field or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • Minimum of one year of professional experience in an academic setting in student affairs or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • Excellent organization, multi-tasking and strong time management skills.
  • Strong information design, development and tracking skills.
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to be a team player.
  • The ability to be resourceful, analyze problems and propose problem solving solutions.
  • High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations.
  • Ability to work occasional evening and weekend hours for special events.
  • Must be Microsoft Office proficient.
  • Must be proficient with statistical software such as SPSS.
  • Must possess experience with building, and maintaining databases.

Position Details

 

Position Purpose

Reporting to the Director of Diversity & Inclusion and the Assistant Dean of Diversity & Inclusion, the Diversity & Inclusion Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations and functions of Diversity & Inclusion in the Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine. This position is responsible for the development, implementation and maintenance of a streamlined process for all programming and events through the Diversity & Inclusion. This position is responsible for the maintenance of the web site and other forms of media, coordination of the master URM student recruitment database, and creation and maintenance of diversity education materials. Lastly, this position is responsible for data analysis of incoming research projects and will work with different survey instruments and large datasets using a variety of analytical techniques to prepare research reports.
