Position Summary
Danaher’s Director Public Relations & Media Relations will build and oversee Danaher’s new public relations and media relations program, to help grow Danaher brand awareness and perceptions among key stakeholders.
This role will direct global media and/or public relations activities, events, and campaigns, in partnership with agency partners and internal stakeholders, to ensuring Danaher’s corporate narrative is communicated effectively, fairly and accurately.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Serves as Danaher’s lead public relations/media relations strategist. Collaborates with functional leads to craft channel-specific media plans, while ensuring content is delivered within a cohesive “brand story” and corporate narrative.
- Partners closely with senior leaders to anticipate external business challenges or issues; recommends media/public relations solutions; addresses issues that have a broad impact on the business.
- Identifies speaking engagements, events, earned media opportunities.
- Coordinates messaging and campaigns across various owned channels (social media, press releases, DHR.com).
- Manages day-to-day operations and relationship with external Communications /PR agency partners to ensure best possible outcome for the organization.
- Coordinates/directs media training for C-Suite executes and spokespeople.
- Serves as global contact/spokesperson for crisis/issues or media inquiry response; coordinates with PR agency and Operating Companies, as needed.
- Establishes and tracks PR metrics/KPIs, as well budgets, policies, and standard work.
Qualifications
- Minimum 10+ years media management, with minimum 8 years in Public Relations role for large Corporation or agency. Experience in life sciences, diagnostics, applied markets highly valued.
- Bachelor’s degree required with focus in public relations, journalism, communications, English literature or business desirable
Demonstrates expertise in:
- Writing press releases and editorials
- Managing agency relationships; meaningful relationships with KOLs/SMEs
- preparing for major events, running press conferences, handling media inquiries/ interview requests
- Strong collaborative approach with proven accountability for deliverables
- Ideal candidate has ability to generate unique story ideas; connects the dots and carries consistent themes across deliverables, as well as:
- Intrinsic interest in keeping up with media trends
- Analytical nature, metrics-focused with accountability for ROI and continuous improvement
- Established media relationships and/or prior experience interacting with media/serving as a spokesperson
- Experience coaching and working with C-Suite executives.
- Ability to travel up to 25%

- The salary range or hourly range for this role is 118,000- 175,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in Colorado. This range may be modified in the future.
- This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
