Full Job Description
The Director of Marketing is an administrative role that supports the organization’s social media and marketing efforts. He/she works to increase the GMCF’s visibility by managing the brand image and the design of marketing materials. The Director of Marketing works under the direction and supervision of the President & CEO of the Greater Manhattan Community Foundation.
Core Responsibilities
Marketing & Communications
- Plan and manage GMCF marketing campaigns (Grow Green Match Day, CFAs, etc.)
- Develop content strategies for print and digital media (newsletters, social media, press releases, annual reports, blog posts)
- Design, write, and schedule digital marketing content (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Constant Contact)
- Oversee advertising timelines, budgets, and placements (print, radio, digital)
- Maintain branded materials using Canva and/or Adobe Creative Suite
- Update GMCF websites and campaign microsites
Social Media & Digital Strategy
- Maintain social media calendars for GMCF and affiliate campaigns
- Coordinate weekly Community Hour radio show: guest outreach, prep, and promotion
- Track engagement data and adjust strategies accordingly
Partner & Affiliate Support
- Create marketing toolkits for affiliate foundations and key programs
- Provide direct campaign support for affiliate Match Days
- Liaise with partners on marketing needs across the region
Content Development
- Write stories showcasing community impact and donor support
- Collaborate on campaign messaging and donor communications
- Draft event invites, stewardship pieces, and more
Project Management
- Maintain editorial calendars and long-term marketing plans
- Support and guide interns, seasonal staff, or volunteers
- Assist with presentations and documentation for committees
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism, or related field
- 2–5 years of experience in marketing and communications
- Strong writing, editing, and project management skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and email marketing tools (e.g., Constant Contact)
- Experience with Canva or Adobe Creative Suite
- Working knowledge of social media platforms
- Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple deadlines
Preferred:
- Familiarity with nonprofit/philanthropic sectors
- Experience with donor or community outreach
- Background working with interns, volunteers, or committees
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $40,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
