We’re experiencing rapid growth, with 4x sales growth in 2024, and are now seeking a Director of Engineering, DevOps, and Security to join the Bonfyre leadership team. This role uniquely blends strategic leadership with hands-on technical contributions, requiring a leader who can set vision, mentor teams, and actively contribute to Bonfyre’s engineering initiatives, including writing code and building solutions that drive scalability, security, and innovation.
Leadership
- Serve as a member of the Bonfyre leadership team, contributing to company-wide strategy, culture, and decision-making.
- Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing engineering team.
- Create, implement, and oversee engineering team processes and practices that drive development quality, velocity, and overall team engagement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Customer Success and Sales to align engineering initiatives and resources with business objectives.
- Stay updated on software development technologies including AI and evaluate their potential to improve Bonfyre’s business and productivity.
DevOps and Security
- Strong experience with building and managing AWS infrastructure and tools ecosystems.
- Oversee infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and system performance to maintain high availability and reliability.
- Optimize cloud infrastructure and other engineering software costs where feasible while ensuring scalability and redundancy.
- Implement, optimize, and manage logging to effectively identify performance problems, code-related bugs, and security threats that are easily actionable by our developers.
- Champion a culture of security and performance and maintain and oversee Bonfyre’s information security protocols and controls for infrastructure, software development lifecycle, and company data and tools.
- Manage various tools to support Bonfyre’s security posture – Vanta, Mosyle (MDM), identify management (Google Workspaces), Atlassian (BitBucket), etc.
- Oversee all security certifications, assessments, and compliance including completion of IT risk assessments for prospective customers, penetration tests, and our annual SOC 2 Type 2 certification via Vanta.
- Work with the development team to develop dashboards that unlock insights to help drive product roadmap, velocity, and efficacy.
Compensation
- $185,000/yr base salary

- Bonfyre is also closed between Christmas and New Years for US team members and observes the following holidays: New Year’s Day, MLK Day, President’s Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving (+Day after), Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
