Koniag Technology Solutions, a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking a DevOps Engineer to support KTS and our government customer. This position requires the candidate to be able to obtain a Public Trust. This is a Remote opportunity. This position is for a Future New Business Opportunity.

Customer experience is at the forefront of everything we do. To help us build and maintain robust DevOps practices that improve customer experience for our government customers, we’re looking for a Salesforce DevOps Engineer who can be responsible for deploying product updates, automating release pipelines, identifying production issues, and implementing integrations that align with our customers’ needs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Salesforce development and DevOps methodologies and be familiar with Salesforce DevOps Center, Git, CI/CD pipelines, and automation tools like Jenkins and Bitbucket Pipelines. This role will work closely with developers, engineers, and administrators to ensure that Salesforce deployments follow best practices and function as intended. The Salesforce DevOps Engineer will also assist in planning and be involved in project management decisions.


Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to:

  1. Support and collaborate with Salesforce development and platform teams to optimize deployment processes.
  2. Maintain and enhance lower environments (sandboxes, scratch orgs, UAT, and staging) to support Agile release cycles.
  3. Automate and streamline deployment and release management using Salesforce DevOps Center, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Bitbucket Pipelines.
  4. Ensure that Salesforce development follows source control best practices and versioning strategies.
  5. Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues related to Salesforce deployments and system integrations.
  6. Enhance security and compliance in Salesforce deployments, aligning with FedRAMP and Zero Trust principles.
  7. Work on strategies to automate metadata management, environment provisioning, and change tracking.

Responsibilities:

  1. Implement CI/CD pipelines for Salesforce applications, ensuring smooth and automated deployments.
  2. Deploy Salesforce updates, configurations, and metadata changes while minimizing risks to production.
  3. Automate testing and validation processes within the Salesforce ecosystem.
  4. Monitor and troubleshoot deployment failures, API integrations, and platform performance issues.
  5. Collaborate with developers, admins, and architects to establish best practices in version control and branching strategies.
  6. Ensure Salesforce security and compliance through DevSecOps practices.
  7. Develop scripts and automation tools to enhance deployment efficiency and rollback capabilities.
  8. Participate in release planning, sprint reviews, and Agile ceremonies to align deployment efforts with business needs.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  1. Experience as a Salesforce DevOps Engineer, Salesforce Release Manager, or DevOps Engineer supporting Salesforce teams.
  2. Proficiency with GitHub, Bitbucket, Jenkins, or other CI/CD tools for Salesforce development.
  3. Strong understanding of Salesforce metadata, DX, scratch orgs, and source-driven development.
  4. Experience with Salesforce DevOps Center, Gearset, Copado, or similar release management tools.
  5. Good knowledge of APEX, SOQL, Salesforce CLI, and automation scripting (Python, Shell, or PowerShell).
  6. Ability to troubleshoot and resolve deployment, integration, and security issues.
  7. Strong problem-solving skills and a collaborative team-oriented mindset.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

  1. Salesforce certifications (e.g., Salesforce Platform Developer I, Salesforce DevOps Specialist, or Copado Certified DevOps Engineer).
  2. Experience supporting Salesforce federal government implementations with security and compliance considerations.
  3. Experience working in an Agile, SAFe, or Scrum environment with sprint-based deployments.
  4. Strong understanding of OAuth, API integrations, and security best practices within Salesforce.
