Job Summary
- This position is responsible for creating clear, concise, and compelling internal and external communications to engage target audiences.
- Relies on in-depth knowledge of business processes and procedures to write, proofread, and edit copy.
- Uses brand voice to deliver consistency of tone and style across all channels including print, video, digital, web, and social media.
- Collaborates to brainstorm ideas, develop concepts, and convey messaging for the Credit Union.
Essential Job Functions
- Writes and edits copy for a range of communications and marketing materials intended for internal and external target audiences.
- Proofreads, edits, and provides feedback for copy generated by colleagues.
- Assists with content layout.
- Collaborates to develop creative communication strategies and translates concepts into copy.
- Supports marketing plan initiatives by formulating and writing copy for direct marketing programs, new product launches, and promotional campaigns.
- Uses performance reports to understand the effectiveness of published communications and marketing materials.
- Identifies opportunities and makes recommendations for improvement.
- Researches to understand industry best practices and target audience.
- Gathers information by interviewing subject matter experts, talking with members and staff, reading articles and newsletters.
- Maintains knowledge of communication trends and Credit Union to create copy that connects with internal and external target audiences.
- Handles multiple projects simultaneously from concept to completion.
- Coordinates and prioritizes projects to meet deadlines and distribution dates.
- Completes special projects as assigned.
Education Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Bachelor's degree preferred in journalism, English, writing, marketing, communications or related field.
Experience Requirements
- 5-7 years of copywriting or corporate communications experience required.
- Experience working in financial services industry preferred.
