Through ongoing data collection and monitoring trends, our team identifies health issues and needs. Our strategy is to engage partners and empower residents to support healthy behaviors; address barriers to health; create healthy habits where people live, learn, work, and play; and make health a priority. The Foundation invests in initiatives, programs, grants, and facilities designed to improve health.
SUMMARY:
The Winter Park Health Foundation (WPHF) Content Creation Specialist (CCS) focuses on the production of video, photo, and other visual and written content to highlight the Foundation’s philanthropic community investments, grantmaking work, partnership building, and community impact. The Content Creation Specialist also generates multimedia assets to support and promote WPHF’s Center for Health & Wellbeing (CHWB) and its mission-focused educational programs and events. The Content Creation Specialist reports to the Director of Communications, who will guide the Specialist’s coverage priorities in line with the Foundation’s goals.
Leveraging our WPHF social media pages, as well as other owned and paid communications and marketing channels, the Content Creation Specialist will work to grow the Winter Park Health Foundation’s audience and increase public recognition of the Foundation’s community impact. A successful CCS is a social-media-savvy self-starter who creates engaging content to inspire people to pause and pay attention.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Serves as multimedia storyteller, utilizing text, video, photos, and/or graphics to capture personal stories showcasing WPHF and its work and impact (past, present, and future)
· Writes social media posts and feature articles for WPHF websites and print and digital publications
· Develops and crafts marketing communications to promote programs and events, including social media posts and mass email messages
· Collaborates with other members of the WPHF communications staff (Communications Director and graphic designer) to plan, produce, and publish creative assets and maximize reach
· Attends and covers WPHF special programs and events, including on nights and weekends as needed
· Creates health-focused educational content for community benefit through interviews with our WPHF network of experts and instructors
· Acts as primary WPHF photographer and videographer, producing regular photo and video content for social media and other public outreach platforms
· Oversees paid social media ad campaigns, and monitors and answers social media inbox messages and comments in a way that aligns with our organizational voice
· Maintains expert knowledge of current social media and marketing/communications trends
DESIRED SKILLS:
WORK EXPERIENCE:
· 2+ years in communications, PR & advertising, journalism, or marketing role with demonstrated experience in creating successful content; nonprofit and/or public service experience preferred
EDUCATION:
· Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, public relations, marketing, or a related area of study preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
· Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
· Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
· This job mostly follows a Monday through Friday 9 AM to 5 PM schedule, but it will require some after-hours and weekend work centered around WPHF and CHWB special events.
