We are seeking an Assistant Vice President, Underwriting – Lawyers Professional Liability, Sompo Pro for our Chicago, IL or New York, NY office.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Experience in admitted Lawyers Professional Liability products, including knowledge of underwriting guidelines, regulatory compliance, and market trends specific to this insurance segment.
  • Ability to evaluate and underwrite all individual risk characteristics and properly determine capacity, attachment point, terms and pricing.
  • Proficiency in navigating and adhering to the regulatory requirements for admitted Lawyers Professional Liability across different states and jurisdictions.
  • Involvement in the development and enhancement of admitted Lawyers Professional Liability products, including collaborating with the project team on creating policy forms, endorsements, and rates that comply with regulatory standards.
  • A thorough understanding of the competitive landscape and market dynamics for admitted Lawyers Professional Liability, including knowledge of key competitors and emerging opportunities.
  • Maintain and enhance existing broker relationships as well as identify and develop new relationships within the region.
  • Ability to effectively interact, communicate and negotiate with all levels of external and/or internal business partners.

 

Qualifications:

  • Established relationships with Retail and Wholesale Network
  • 10+ years of Lawyers Professional Liability Underwriting
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Ability to travel approximate 20% of the time.

 

Salary Range: $100,000– $180,000 Actual compensation for this role will depend on several factors including the cost of living associated with your work location, your qualifications, skills, competencies, and relevant experience.
