Overview
PHC Global is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Manager for the Research division within the Global Health Department. The Assistant Manager, Research, will support the Manager in conducting research, developing and implementing research methodologies, and ensuring the rigorous evaluation of global health programs. This role involves assisting in program management, research design, data analysis, and stakeholder engagement to advance the organization's mission and vision.

Key Responsibilities
The Assistant Manager Research position will provide vital support to the research initiatives at PHC Global, ensuring the smooth execution of research projects and high-quality data analysis. This role involves coordinating project activities, assisting in data management, and supporting the research team. The Assistant Manager Research will work closely with the Manager Research to contribute to the organization's research goals and objectives.
1. Research Project Coordination
a. Assist in the coordination and execution of research projects, ensuring adherence to timelines and objectives.
b. Support project teams in monitoring progress and addressing challenges to optimize project performance.
c. Ensure compliance with ethical standards and regulatory requirements in all research activities.
2. Proposal Support
a. Contribute to the development of research proposals and grant applications.
b. Collaborate with team members to support the conceptualization and design of research projects.
c. Assist in identifying potential funding sources and developing strategies to secure research funding.
3. Data Collection and Management
a. Assist in data collection efforts, ensuring accuracy and reliability of research data.
b. Support the organization and management of research data, maintaining databases and ensuring data integrity.
c. Contribute to data analysis and the preparation of detailed reports on research findings.
4. Stakeholder Communication
a. Maintain effective communication with internal and external stakeholders, including academic institutions, research organizations, and funding agencies.
b. Represent PHC Global in relevant meetings and forums as needed.
c. Collaborate with the communication team to highlight research achievements and impact through various channels.
5. Team Support and Development
a. Provide support to junior researchers, assisting in their professional growth and development.
b. Promote a collaborative and inclusive research environment that encourages creativity and productivity.
c. Assist in facilitating training and capacity-building opportunities for the research team.
6. Monitoring and Evaluation
a. Assist in implementing monitoring and evaluation mechanisms to track the progress and impact of research projects.
b. Support the analysis of research outcomes and identify areas for improvement.
c. Contribute to the continuous improvement of research processes and methodologies.
7. Financial Assistance
a. Assist in developing and monitoring research project budgets.
b. Ensure efficient utilization of financial resources in accordance with project requirements.
c. Support transparency in financial management of research funds.
8. Strategic Planning and Continuous Improvement
a. Participate in strategic planning sessions to provide insights and recommendations for enhancing PHC Global's research initiatives.
b. Identify opportunities for process improvement and organizational growth within the research department.
c. Stay informed about emerging trends and developments in the field of global health research and integrate relevant innovations into PHC Global's research strategy.
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Global Health, Epidemiology, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
· Minimum of 2 years of experience in global health research or a related field.
· Experience in designing, implementing, and evaluating research studies.
· Understanding of global health priorities and challenges.
· Proficiency in quantitative and qualitative research methodologies.
· Knowledge of statistical software and data analysis tools.
· Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to build and maintain partnerships with diverse stakeholders.
· Experience in resource mobilization and grant management is a plus.
