Location: East Windsor, NJ (hybrid -2 days in-office/3 days work-from-home) or Remote (depending on your proximity to our office)

Hours: Monday through Friday - 8:30am to 4:30pm

Due to growth, we are seeking a talented and enthusiastic individual to join our team as an Assistant Digital Editor. In this role you will focus on the development and delivery of educational multimedia content for a digital publication focused on an audience health care professionals.

You do not need prior healthcare experience or scientific educational background. What you do need is a genuine interest in a career in medical publishing.

The ideal candidate is someone with a positive attitude and desire to learn who enjoys working in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities :

  • Perform daily reviews of relevant breaking research to identify topics of interest to the brand’s audience
  • Develop written news briefs
  • Assign topics for contributed articles, track deadlines, edit and post articles
  • Perform interviews, including podcasts and videos, and edit audio and video content
  • Cover and report on healthcare industry conferences
  • Use a content management system to post content on the website daily
  • Work within tight deadlines
  • Maintain relationships with external editors and contributors
  • Build e-newsletters and schedule them for deployment
  • Post daily across social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.)
  • Regularly track and report website and e-newsletter analytics
  • Work with the digital operations team to fulfill sponsored campaigns

 

 

Qualifications/Requirements :

  • BA in English, Journalism or related field
  • 1 year of professional or internship experience (preferably related to healthcare or publishing)
  • Strong writing, proofreading, and copy-editing skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines
  • Familiarity with AMA style or similar style guide (preferred)
  • Comfort with digital platforms; knowledge of content management systems (similar to WordPress) is a plus
  • Knowledge of HTML is a plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel)
  • Hands on experience with audio/video editing software (Audacity, iMovie, Garage Band, etc.)
  • Knowledge of social media platforms and related analytics (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn)
  • Experience working with email scheduling software similar to Mail Chimp, Constant Contact
  • Willingness to travel to industry conferences approximately 2-3 times per year (post Covid-19 restrictions)
  • Valid driver’s license
