Vazyme is seeking an experienced Application Scientist to support and expand the adoption of our NGS sequencing solutions across U.S. customers, with a strong focus on Clinical Labs or NGS service Unit with Automation working experience. This is a field-facing role responsible for workflow implementation, optimization, customer training, and technical enablement, including deployment on common Vazyme liquid handling platforms(Including liquid handler, automatic extraction, etc.). If you have Tecan, Beckman, Hamilton (and similar systems) working experience that would be great. The role requires 50%+ travel across all U.S. states (busy season depends on installation situation),working remotely

Key Responsibilities

1. Customer Application Support (NGS)

1. Provide on-site and remote application support for end-to-end NGS workflows: sample QC, library preparation, and help the liquid handler works in labs.
2. Guide customers in experimental design, controls, and best practices to achieve reproducible, high-quality results.

2. Workflow Optimization & Troubleshooting

1. Diagnose root causes of workflow performance issues (e.g., low yield, insert size shifts, high duplication, low on-target rate, uneven coverage, contamination) and propose corrective/preventive actions.

3. Automation Enablement (Tecan / Beckman / Hamilton working experience prefer)

1. Support assay implementation and optimization on Vazyme liquid handlers, including deck layout suggestions, protocol adaptations, reagent handling guidance,etc.
2. Collaborate with customers and internal teams to ensure robust automated performance and smooth tech transfer.

4. Training & Technical Content

1. Deliver customer onboarding, workflow workshops, and troubleshooting training for bench scientists and lab leadership.
2. Create and maintain technical materials such as application notes, quick-start guides, troubleshooting trees, FAQs, and webinar content.

5. Cross-functional Collaboration (Commercial + R&D)

1. Partner with Sales/BD to support technical evaluations, POCs, and demos; provide pre-sales/post-sales input and competitive positioning.
2. Collect Voice of Customer (VOC) feedback and collaborate with Product Management/R&D to drive continuous improvement and new application opportunities.

Required Qualifications

1. Education: Master’s degree (minimum) in Molecular Biology, Genetics, Biochemistry, Bioengineering, Bioinformatics, or a related discipline.
2. Experience: 2–3 years of hands-on experience in NGS sequencing workflows, automation platforms such as Tecan, Beckman, Hamilton (or similar) for NGS sample prep/library prep., and experience supporting clinical labs is strongly preferred.
3. Technical Expertise: Working knowledge of NGS
4. Customer-facing Skills: Strong communication and presentation skills; ability to translate complex technical topics into clear guidance for diverse audiences.
5. Travel: Willingness and ability to travel 50%+ across all U.S. states.
