The Role

We're seeking a skilled WordPress Developer to join our freelance team and support multiple client website projects. You'll work 6-8 hours per day remotely, collaborating with our Project Managers to build, optimize, and maintain high-quality WordPress sites. This role focuses on delivering excellent technical execution while our PMs handle direct client communication, allowing you to focus on what you do best—development.

Key Responsibilities

1. Develop and customize WordPress themes to meet client specifications
2. Build custom plugins and modify existing functionality for client needs
3. Optimize websites for speed, performance, and scalability
4. Maintain and troubleshoot existing WordPress sites across multiple client accounts
5. Execute new website builds from concept to launch
6. Customize and configure Elementor Pro layouts and components
7. Implement and customize WooCommerce functionality for e-commerce clients
8. Perform website migrations between hosting environments
9. Collaborate with Project Managers to execute tasks on schedule and to specification
10. Follow documented processes and best practices for consistent quality

Required Qualifications

1. Minimum 3 years of hands-on WordPress development experience
2. Strong proficiency in PHP, MySQL, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
3. Proven experience with custom WordPress theme development
4. Solid understanding of WordPress plugin development and customization
5. Experience with Elementor Pro (required for client builds)
6. Working knowledge of WooCommerce setup and customization
7. Demonstrated ability to optimize WordPress performance and speed
8. Experience with website migrations and hosting environments
9. Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills
10. Excellent written communication for remote collaboration

Preferred Qualifications

1. Experience with Cloudways hosting platform
2. Familiarity with WP-CLI and Git version control
3. Knowledge of WordPress security best practices
4. Experience with Advanced Custom Fields (ACF)
5. Understanding of SEO principles and implementation
6. Experience supporting multiple client projects simultaneously
7. Comfortable following SOPs and documented workflows
