This position is well-suited for someone who enjoys CMS-driven development, custom theming, and working closely with designers and content teams.

Specific Responsibilities

  2. Build custom WordPress themes and plugins to meet project requirements
  3. Implement designs with attention to responsiveness, accessibility, and performance
  4. Integrate WordPress with third-party services, APIs, and marketing tools
  5. Maintain and optimize WordPress databases and site performance
  6. Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve site issues across environments
  7. Collaborate with designers, front-end developers, and project managers
  8. Provide project updates and technical guidance to internal teams
  9. Stay current with WordPress core updates, plugin ecosystems, and security best practices

Primary Qualifications

  1. Strong experience developing with WordPress

  3. Experience creating custom themes and plugins (not just page builders)
  4. Understanding of WordPress performance, security, and deployment best practices

Expected Experience

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  2. 1–3 years of professional WordPress development experience
  3. Experience working with modern WordPress workflows, including:
  4. Custom themes (block or classic)
  5. Plugin development
  6. Git-based source control
  7. Familiarity with hosting platforms, staging environments, and deployment workflows
  8. This position provides a market-competitive base salary between $55,000 and $65,000, with the final amount determined by the candidates' experience and qualifications.
