The Wireless Systems Application Engineer is responsible for customer support, trouble shooting and helping other engineers within the company with difficult problems. It is a technical role which requires you to acquire an in-depth understanding at the hardware and software levels of Nextivity products.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
The Wireless Systems Application Engineer will be involved in all aspects of supporting, debugging and testing Nextivity products. Specifically, but not limited to:
- Customer focused and ready to debug real world.
- Log files analysis to debug and understand system issues.
- Read software and compile test builds.
- Ability to use lab equipment such as signal generators and call boxes.
- Understand RF problems and are capable of discussing them with RF engineers.
- Travel to support customers when required.
Skills And Abilities
- Cellular knowledge (4G/5G GSM)
- Physical layer, power control, ...
- Call processing.
- Know their way around 3GPP specifications.
- The more knowledge the better.

- Ability to read software (find debug prints, add/suggest debug prints if necessary).

- Good understanding of digital communication and signal processing algorithms and their applications in physical layer designs.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office tools
- Must be proactive, taking initiative and working in a collaborative team.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Work Experience
- Must have at least 10 years' experience in wireless
- Must have at least 5 years' experience in LTE systems and must have an in-depth understanding of broader wireless technologies such as LTE, UMTS, 5G, Bluetooth, and ZigBee.
- Must have some familiarity with software test methodology and test.
- Working knowledge of test automation systems for software testing and application
Education
- Master's degree in electrical or computer Engineering is required.
