If you are a Wireless Service Engineer professional looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you! You will design and implement Industrial WiFi Plant Network Infrastructures for Enterprise IT Operations. You will work with customers and Emerson Partners to perform Front End Engineering and Design (FEED) studies, as well as deploy, commission, maintain and support Emerson Wireless Plant Network solutions. Position strongly preferred to be based in Houston, TX but will consider other locations near major Emerson offices and airports with up to 60% travel required.

AS A WIRELESS SERVICE ENGINEER, YOU WILL:

• Perform outdoor and indoor WiFi site surveys in Oil and Gas, Chemical and other process manufacturing Plants, utilizing site survey tools such as Ekahau and Airmagnet
• Conduct walkdowns at customer facilities to inspect the environment, evaluate the LAN, identify sources of RF interference, and validate antenna usage and AP placement
• Design Outdoor Industrial WiFi Mesh Networks and Indoor Enterprise-grade WiFi Networks, including wireless and wired infrastructure networks
• Commission wired and wireless infrastructure projects, with ownership of configuring switches, routers, firewalls, outdoor mesh access points, Wireless LAN controller, and Windows OS industrial tablets
• Contribute and support in the creation and implementation of designs, specifications, and testing
• Lead factory acceptance testing, site acceptance testing, commissioning and start up
• Define scope and execution planning for conceptual (FEED) and design detail

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Technical discipline
• Minimum of 7 years of industry experience
• Ability to travel up to 60% to meet business needs
• Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future
   

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

• CISCO CCNA Certification or equivalent
• Experience in deploying or supporting security best practices and technologies such as risk or vulnerability assessments, firewalls, intrusion detection systems, centralized alert logging and monitoring in ICS environments
• Experience in designing and deploying secured wireless networks for Control Systems (DCS)
• Experience in deploying and integrating secured wireless networks within large manufacturing organization's Process Controls Domain (PCD) networks
