We combine policy and regulatory expertise with strategic communications, coalition-building, and advocacy campaigns to help ensure policymakers protect workers, small businesses, communities, and democracy from monopolistic corporations to advance economic liberty for all.

Job Description:

American Economic Liberties Project is seeking an experienced WordPress developer for ongoing website maintenance and light development/design work. This is a contract position with regular, ongoing tasks. Primary responsibilities will include:

1. Update website content including posting copy, news releases, and reports as directed
2. Monitor and maintain site performance, speed, and SEO optimization
3. Troubleshoot technical issues as they arise
4. Create and remove landing pages based on evolving organizational priorities
5. Redesign report display templates for a more modern aesthetic and convert existing PDF reports into web-based formats (approximately 12 reports initially)

Required Skills:

1. Proficiency in WordPress (theme customization, page builders)
2. HTML/CSS knowledge for content formatting and design updates
3. Experience with SEO best practices and site performance optimization
4. Ability to create responsive, modern layouts
5. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
6. Capacity for quick response

Preferred:

1. Knowledge of accessibility standards
2. Familiarity with graphic design

This is essentially a website maintenance + light development role rather than full custom development work. The estimated work time is 15-20 hours per month

Compensation:

· $1,000 monthly retainer for 10-15 hours, $75 per hour after that.
