Website Developer

Digital marketing agency seeking a full-time Website Developer to support some of the most exciting brands in Washington, DC and across the US! We offer fully remote work with a flexible schedule, but preference will go to applicants in DC, MD, or VA. You’re a self-starter who appreciates the value of learning new skills and keeping up with the latest trends. This role combines skills in website development, solutions architecture, and technical project management.

Day-To-Day Responsibilities:

1. Designing, developing, and installing custom website solutions using various Content Management Systems, primarily WordPress
2. Create lead generation websites using HTML, CSS, Javascript, and PHP in a WordPress environment
3. Determines operational feasibility of software modifications by analyzing problems and user requirements
4. Investigate problems submitted by users
5. Follow the software development lifecycle
6. Work with clients to create and manage Business and Technical Requirement Documents, as well as other scope documents
7. Perform research on competitors and industry trends, and keep up to date with best practices, development tools and industry research
8. Contribute to content marketing plans, identifying opportunities to create and promote digital content that can improve search engine traffic and quality rankings

10. Collaborating with creatives including designers, photographers and other animators.
11. This role is equally client-facing as it is “behind the scenes”
12. Ability to translate user requirements into specifications for the development team
13. Ability to design and/or modify the overall architecture of a given system

15. Ability to solve complex problems
16. Ability to work with onshore and offshore teams

Requirements:

1. 3+ years of front-end website development experience on sites on WordPress
2. 3+ years of experience in CSS, HTML, PHP, JavaScript, JQuery, WordPress (including ACF, custom post types and taxonomies)
3. Experience managing WordPress hosting environments like Kinsta or WPEngine
4. Experience developing fully-responsive “mobile first” websites
5. Familiarity with SQL / MySQL
6. Experience with GitHub or BitBucket
7. Experience serving as technical lead throughout the full software development lifecycle, from conception, architecture definition, detailed design, scoping, planning, implementation, testing to documentation, delivery and maintenance is preferred
8. Skilled, professional communicator, both in-person and in writing
9. Strong analytical and organizational skills
10. Local to Washington, DC metro area

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
