Position Summary: The Video Content Specialist is responsible for creating and ideating IFM video and audio assets for social media, website content and program marketing. The Video Content Specialist works with the video team to develop engaging content for use in multiple channels for both promotional and educational purposes. The Video Content Specialist is responsible for digitally optimizing video and audio for distribution on IFM’s website and other social media and learner channels and tracks performance using analytics. In collaboration with the supervisor and Content Team, the main goal is to conceptualize and produce high quality, informative, creative media to support the widespread adoption of functional medicine.

Essential Functions

Video Content Creation

  • Collaborate with our team to develop video concepts for marketing and social media.
  • Create videos to support programs and the website including testimonial-type clips from patients, practitioners, IFM partners, IFM senior management, and exhibitors, etc.
  • Create compilation videos for both promotional and educational purposes as well as incorporate music, b-roll, annotations, images, sound, and other creative elements to enhance the visual storytelling.
  • Responsible for filming, editing, audio sweetening, color grading, creating titles and animations, and working with footage from multiple cameras and syncing audio to video.
  • Create IFM Stories, longer promo-type testimonials, with patients and practitioners to support the marketing & communications campaigns.
  • Track video edit requests and inform team members when assets are ready for review/use.
  • Ensure timely delivery of completed videos according to project deadlines.
  • Continuously improve video editing skills and techniques to maintain high standards of quality.
  • Responsible for the publishing of content, scheduling, captioning, uploading, thumbnail & graphic creation, etc.
  • Ensure that video and audio quality meet IFM standards and troubleshoot any technical issues as needed.
  • Adhere to copyright and licensing regulations when using third-party content.

Online & Offline Media Management

  • Organize, upload, track, and maintain video content and their metadata in an online environment (Widen, 23, social media, etc.) and offline environment (external hard drives).

Other Functions

  • Assess onsite video room for audio and video quality; communicate with supervisor team if a room change is needed.
  • Support the setup and breakdown of video room for filming.
  • Maintain a friendly and professional working environment onsite.
  • Support supervisor with special projects as they arise.
  • This role may perform duties not listed in the essential functions, but which are essential to the Video Content Specialist

What We’re Looking For

  • Demonstrated success creating high impact video content for an online audience.
  • Associates degree in relevant field or equivalent experience.
  • Portfolio that shows final products (ex. video reels).
  • Highly skilled at all phases of visual storytelling: pre-production, production and post-production.
  • Knowledge in Adobe Creative Suite (Premier Pro, Photoshop, After Effects), willingness and ability to adapt and continuously discover and implement new editing technologies and industry best practices to maximize efficiency.
  • Knowledge of branding best practices and procedures.
  • Analytical & Critical Thinking: Ability to apply reasoning and problem-solving skills and elevate questions to supervisor when there is uncertainty
  • Attention to Detail: Ability to be detail oriented and apply thorough attention to work in order to ensure all details are accurate.
  • Collaboration: Demonstrates collaboration and relationship management skills and is able to work effectively with all colleagues and external stakeholders.
  • Communication: Ability to communicate information in concise, actionable language and have the recipient understand the message whether orally or in writing.
  • Accountability & Execution: Ability to work independently and be self-motivated to meet deadlines and to plan, prioritize, and focus on critical issues. Ability to follow up and see tasks through completion.
  • Organizational Excellence: Ability to take initiative, ownership, and accountability for projects. Understands and applies effective organizational techniques to stay focused, demonstrate efficiency in work and request appropriate resources when needed.
